We welome Ramsgate Fc to Star meadow for the opening game of the season. The 1st half started well as the boys look like they are finally starting to play as a team.

Ramsgate beat us 4-3 and 5-0 last season so this was good chance for us to see how we have improved, we created some decent chances and played some good football and was unfortunate not to have taken the lead. the defence played their part and worked well together and when Ramsgate did get through Callum was there.

Second half started with no changes to the team. I have spoken to all the boys and told them that this is a minimum 26 game squad season and not everyone would get a game every week. From the whistle the boys were up for this, we started well and looked comfortable but couldn't get our nose's infront. 

Ramsgate got their game together and got a bit of a foot hold. We dug in and defended well, I eventually replaced lexi with Ti who gives us that extra crunch in mid field, moved steven left and Aflfie right. We got ourselves back together and were on top again but couldn't get in front. With 15 minutes to go I changed Luke for Sam who went in to the middle. There was plenty of space there now as the pace started to tell, with only H up front a centre 3 of Flish, Ti and Sam this would allow Alfie and Steven to push forward. Alfie got the break through with 10 minutes to go. Ramsgate tried to get back into it but again Brad, Kehinde, Levi and Dan along with the centre 3 and Callum, we got what I think was a well desserved win.
