A tough opening fixture for us against last seasons champions, but we started very brightly, enjoying good early possesion, looking comfortable in all areas.
As the half developed we wondered where a goal was coming from, we were getting into their area but could not get a decent shot off.
An attack down our right by Tom who cut inside and spread the ball across field to Dean Baker whos first touch took him inside, Dean then unleashed an unstoppable shot from 25 yards that flew into the top corner, a great goal !
So 1-0 at ht, a good start but we felt we could have been 2 or 3 up - with the possesion we had and chances we created, but we had to stay positive, keep doing what we were doing and we would be ok.
But Quayside started the 2nd half better then us, they caught us out defensively to equalise. We then responded well, creating chances, Tom then scored but it was ruled out for offside, harsh we felt - and while we were complaining we got again caught out, what should have been 2-1 to us we were 2-1 down.
We kept pressing, time was running out for us, we then pushed Ben forward - which resulted in him getting an equaliser, a quick turn on the edge of their area Ben then used all his experience to cooly slot the ball past the keeper to make it 2-2.
We pressed to get the winner, Tom going close with a chip, but time run out. A good result for our first match, some good individual performances, but man of the match goes to Ben, getting stronger and fitter - and better each week !
