Having lost back to back, this week was a very important match for us, we were expecting Lordswood to make it tough for us - and not to take them easy just because we put 6 past them at home.

 How right we were, Lordswood were very up for the game, putting us under pressure right from ko, never letting us settle, and so we found it tough to settle and pass the ball about.

Our objective today was to put the last 2 weeks behind us, focus on the good things we do - keeping the ball, lots of movement and shear hardwork, with this and keeping our faith, chances would come.

The 1st half finished goal-less, we were working hard, but just could not do enough to cause our opponents problems.

We started the 2nd half much better, a little break and time to gather our thoughts seemed to have worked, we knew if we stay focused Lordswood would finally tire of our constant pressure.

We did create, make chances for ourselves, Sam running from deep onto goal but unable to finish, Steve attacking from our left but again no end product.

So time to introduce some fresh legs to add more pace and directness, Jimmy coming onto our right for Curtis who had done great but was tiring. Jimmy soon got involved, getting the ball to feet, sucking in his opponents then leaving them 'for dead', a one two and Jimmy found himself in a great position and time to deliver a tantalising ball into Lordswood area which Aiken cooly slotted home - a deserved goal for very hard working game.

Lordswood did spoil things by firstly having a player sent off for abusive language after a penalty appeal, then as the game came to a close a horrendous challenge on Sam resulted in a straight red, so they finished with 9, but nothing taken away from us today, this was a 'job done', a deserved win, which should have been more, but with probable nerves of resent games, a very important win.

Also to mention, great to see Carl get some more important minutes for us, unfortunate today to lose Alan through his persistant groin problem, and also Jay who was having a good solid match having to come off through a calf strain, being replaced by Kurt, and again for us to shuffle our pack about - but when your blessed with having Darren in your side you can make whatever change you need to - thanks for your help today 'dazza', leading us out on the pitch, taking over the experince role with Andy being rested !

Man of the match today goes to Aiken, worked very hard upfront on his own, got a well deserved goal to win us the game.

Next week at home v Queyside - so another good reason to get ourselves going again today !
