Match Report

First match of our double header encounter today.

With a squad of 15 players - Josh back, Curt available, Dan knights joining us, we finally felt we had turned the corner !

Playing 30mins each way to play 2 games, it was important to start brightly.

It was Borden who were quicker out the blocks, but we made the first blow, Josh latching on to a through ball, out muscle-in their defenders, then out-pacing them and cooly slotting past their keeper to put us 1-0 up.

We then settled down and dominated the rest of the half. Jordan Palmby put us 2 up, again on a free-kick and again reacting the quickest - asking the ref to take it, and finding the top corner.

Curtis then made it 3-0, a corner swung in by Jordan from the left, Curt rose the highest to head home, 3 great goals.

We wanted to go and really 'get at them', to gain an advantage for the 2nd match, but we lost Dean, then Liam (our left side) so forced into changes. We did not score anymore, but kept a clean sheet and never troubled.

Final score 3-0, our first win of season !

Man of the match (this goes for bigger picture, especially both games today) Alan - so nice to win, but to have a first for us - a clean sheet even beter ! Well done Al, stay positive mate !
